DreamUp
Join an educational community where space-based research is available to all students,. Help send research up to the International Space Station and beyond. That’s right – you can get your experiment on a rocket and operated in space.
“DreamUp provides space-based educational programs to learners and educators. The first company bringing space into the classroom and the classroom into space, DreamUp is uniquely positioned to engage kids globally with the most cutting-edge space research and developments, and inspire them through scientific discoveries in orbital and suborbital space. DreamUp has a proven track record, having brought over 400 student research payloads worldwide to the International Space Station (ISS).
DreamUp works with student groups around the globe to ensure their experiments are approved for and manifested on SpaceX and Northrop Grumman rockets for launch to the ISS. Our team of experts has integrated hundreds of payloads through our special relationship with launch services provider NanoRacks and their Space Act agreement with NASA that allows access to the most advanced platforms on board the ISS. DreamUp endeavors to ensure that all student researchers can become the pioneers of space science, by providing the most comprehensive educational experience possible, supporting their scientific research and innovation efforts.”

How do I expand this narrative arc? If science and space are in your narrative arc think about supplementing this larger project with one of the smaller science (or space)-based opportunities. For example:
Curious to run other space experiments? Check out Genes in Space.
Continue to explore the world of Mars when you compete to Build a Mars City State.
Diversify your space creds when you compete to build the best International Space Settlement.
For something engaging but less time-consuming, think about one of the following citizen science projects:
Check out what’s going on at NASA - our national space agency runs tons of challenges, competitions and even internships for teens.
HOT TIP: This is potentially a really cool project, especially if you are interested in research science and space. Be sure that your involvement goes beyond what you are doing in the classroom with your teacher and classmates. This could include an independent study with your teacher, or one of the other projects above that expand upon your work with Dream Up.
