Leangap Entrepreneur

Leangap is a four week summer enterpreneurship program in which students work toward the goal of starting a company in one summer. Over the course of the program participants analyze, build and launch businesses. An impressive 50% of the leangap summer businesses continue throughout the course of the following year. Admission to the program Is relatively rigorous, and the program is intensive. According to the Leangap website, there were 1,200 applications for 40 slots in last year’s program.

“Leangap is not your ordinary summer program. Every year, we invite a handful of teenagers from around the world to San Francisco, where they embark on an intense four-week journey to build real, scalable companies.”

Please note that tuition is relatively pricey ($6985) and doesn’t include meals.

HOT TIP: This is an interesting summer option for a teen with a demonstrated interest in business and entrepreneurship. As with most summer programs, the real value lies in what the student does going forward with the experience (and/or product) obtained during the experience. Continuing the run your start-up in a meaningful way is very important.
