March for Our Lives is the national anti-gun violence organization started by teen survivors of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Since its founding the organization has expanded its mission to include other movements like Black Lives Matter. Start a local chapter at your high school and get involved in this exciting new wave of youth activism.

“In the days after the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, we knew we had to make sure that what happened to our community never happens again.

We cannot allow one more person to be killed by senseless gun violence. We cannot allow one more person to experience the pain of losing a loved one. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or a text that never comes. We cannot allow the normalization of gun violence to continue. We must create a safe and compassionate nation for all of us.”

How do I expand this narrative arc?

  • Organize a community wide march and bring local leaders into the conversation.

  • Launch a Youth Town Hall where teens like you raise issues of concern with local leaders.

  • Elevate your concern with state leaders. Get organized, and lobby to have state laws changed.

HOT TIP: Lots of teens start clubs, very few spread movements. You’ll get as much out of this as you put into it. You’ll be surprised how much your time and energy can change lives, including yours!
