Senior Shuffle

Organize a social event for senior citizens in your community or at a nearby retirement home.

We’ve all heard of senior prom, right? Well how about a “Seniors” prom for the benefit of elderly people in your community? There’s lots of evidence that socializing has tremendous benefits for senior citizens. And yet many find old age isolating, whether because of disability, mobility issues or lack of awareness of social opportunities. Find out if there’s a nearby retirement home or community center that hosts events for senior citizens. Then gather a group of friends or peers and throw a fabulous Senior Shuffle, complete with decorations, throwback music and refreshments. It doesn’t have to be elaborate to be a great benefit to people living in your community.
