Astro-Ecology

Help save endangered species using imaging from thermal drones! Join astrophysicists, conservationists, the WWF and Liverpool University in helping develop a system which uses astronomical techniques to automatically find and identify different endangered animals and track down their poachers.

How do I get started? Just go to the Astro-Ecology website and get started.

How much time will this take? This is a low time commitment. Spend as little or as much time as you like!

How do I expand this narrative arc? If nature or conservation are in your narrative arc, consider building on this interest with one of the following:

  • Help preserve South Sudan Biodiversity with this fun and quick little Citizen Science project.

  • See our post about becoming Nature Activist with The Nature Conservancy. There are many ways to get involved with this organization and they all have different time commitments.

HOT TIP: This is a great little project to kick off or complement a general interest in nature, biodiversity and conservation. Make sure to build on this project with some larger and more time-intensive commitments in these interest areas like getting involved with The Nature Conservancy.
