Voteless Not Voiceless

Are you keen to make an impact when it comes to climate change but still too young to vote? Check out Bowseat’s “Voteless Not Voiceless” campaign where you can share your story and join the chorus.

“Young people will face the worst impacts of climate change. But even though they can’t yet vote, youth can shift the hearts and minds of those who can. By raising our voices together, we can build a healthier and safer future for our families, friends, and communities, and for our blue planet.

“Voteless” youth (ages 13-17) from the U.S. are sharing their stories through short videos and written statements about environmental issues that impact them. We want to hear your visions, too: If you could vote, what future would you vote for?

The goal is to share and amplify these stories across social networks, inspiring voters to cast their ballots for healthy environments, for resilient communities, and for a climate-safe future for all. Join the movement and invite your friends. Let’s speak out together!”

How do I expand this narrative arc? Are you keen to bring your activism to your community and beyond?

  • Think about hosting a Trash Splash in your community in which you fill a local pool with plastic waste and then encourage people to swim in it to spread awareness of the effects of plastic trash on marine life.

  • Run a “Pitch the Plastic” campaign in your school or town is also a great idea. See this organization for step by step instructions on how to launch such a campaign.

  • Enter to win the prestigious international Stockholm Junior Water Prize

HOT TIP: It is incredible to get involved with a national campaign. Take your involvement to the next level with a more local effort in your community. It can take the form of an online awareness push, an event, or a mass mobilization. Don’t hold back!
